Adidas Hopes New Releases will Turn Business into Leader

When it comes to any type of sports apparel, Nike is, without a doubt, the first brand most people think of. Nike has had their name on virtually everything from shoes and jerseys to even helmets for many years now. Nike has also revolutionized the next generation jerseys and football gloves we have seen pop up at Division One schools, such as the University of Oregon. Adidas, on the other hand, has not really come out with anything revolutionary in any category of sports apparel. However, things may start to turn around for Adidas this year with the release of what appears to be two products that are driven by modern technology.

The first product is their new running shoes, which will be called the Adidas Bounce is supposed to be one of the best running shoes ever created. At least this is what the company has told us. The new shoe will supposedly weigh a mere 9.8 ounces, which is a nice weight for a running shoe although it is far from setting a record breaking weight. The Bounce is also supposed to return energy through its use of capsules, which the company refers to as “energy spheres.” A demonstration was performed to show how much rebound these spheres are capable of producing. Officials with Adidas say this shoe will hit the market two weeks from today, February 27, and they will retail for $150. The $150 price point is close to what companies that specialize in the running shoe market typically set their prices at, but it is higher than most of the typical running shoes.
